Итак, вторая часть рассказа про город. Пообедав, мы пошли в парк рядом с центром города, с холма в центре которого открывается неплохой вид на старую часть города:
В правой части, с двумя башнями на фасаде, стоит собор Сантьяго. Здание перед ним — мэрия города, а правее, за ней — ректорат местного университета.
Не уверен… привязь для собак на входе в парк?

Из парка мы двинули к строящемуся за городской чертой Городу Культуры, чьи здания очертаниями похожи на бетонные холмы (вроде бы на них можно будет даже забираться, гулять по крыше):
Пешком туда правда идти не совсем удобно из центра. Прошли какими-то окраинами и упёрлись в ворота с табличкой «Строительные работы, посторонним проход запрещён». Собственно, другая дорога к уже открытой для посетителей части комплекса подходила к нему совсем с другой стороны, поэтому мы просто отошли от ворот, заметили заросшую тропинку, поднимающуюся вверх по склону холма, без всяких знаков на ней, и по ней форсировали склон (возможно, была не самая лучшая идея: мы были в сандалях, а склон оказался заросшим мелкими колючими растениями).

На самом деле, на саму стройплощадку мы не заходили, а обошли её по дороге и вышли к уже построенной части комплекса. Тут, правда, нас на машине догнал охранник и пожурил, что мы пришли на территорию с запрещённой стороны. Просил больше так не делать :)
Охрана.
Почти на крыше одного из зданий, оказавшегося библиотекой.
Собственно на данный момент (август 2011) для посетителей открыты два здания: выставочный зал, в котором была выставка печатных машинок, и библиотека. Так же есть кафешка, можно посидеть в прохладе, выпить чего-нибудь :)

Это похоже на то, что сейчас называют печатной машинкой.
А вот это — не очень.
Внутри библиотеки оказалось весьма прикольно: архитектура и дизайн на высоте. Не особо ценные книги можно просто брать с полок и садиться читать, никто не просит регистрироваться и где-то отмечаться.
Там, за стеклом, похоже выставлены более редкие книги.
Уходим. Как видите, с этой стороны по зданиям можно ходить как по обычным горам (мы, правда, уже устали и не полезли на них).
Как говорится, нет такой области в Испании, которая бы считала себя частью Испании:
Надпись на галисийском языке: «Галисия не Испания».
24 июля: день борьбы за права молодёжи. Не знаю, кто такая Брига :)
Ещё один симпатичный вид.
На этом мы закончили осмотр города, вернулись на вписку и пошли с её хозяевами в ресторанчик поужинать и пообщаться. Собственно, изначально мы договаривались остановиться у них на два дня, но, поскольку весь город мы уже посмотрели, решили переночевать и утром поехать в Ля Корунью.

So, the second part of the story about the city. After having our lunch we went to the park next to the old town, where is a hill with a nice view to the city center from its top:
At the right part of the photo, with two towers at its facade, there stays the Cathedral of Santiago.
The building in front of it is the City Hall, and to the right of it there is the rector’s office of the local university.
Not sure, what is it? A place to tie a dog at the entrance to the park?
Nice benches and pavilions in the park.
From the park we went to the City of Culture, being constructed in suburbs of Santiago. Its buildings looks like an artificial hills (seems it will be even normal to walk over their roofs, when they are finished)::
Well, to walk there from the city center is not very convenient. We passed by some suburbs and were stopped by a gate with sign “Construction site, don’t enter”. The other road to the opened part of the complex was a bit far away, so we just walked a bit aside, found a trail without any signs, going uphill, and followed it. (Actually was not very smart idea, because we were wearing sandals, and the hill was covered with a lot of spiny plants).

At the top of the hill we met again the wall around the construction site.

Actually, we were not entering to the construction site, we just walked around it and entered to the completed part of the complex. But, at the same moment a security person in his car came to us and reproved us that we came from the prohibited side. Asked us no to do it again :)

Almost at the roof of one of the buildings, which turned out to be a library.
At the moment (August 2011) only two buildings are already completed and opened for visitors: an exhibition hall, where was an exhibition of typewriters, and library. Also there is a bar, where it is pleasant to sit in fresh room and have a drink :)

The library is quite cool inside. The design is good, and it is possible just take a book you like and sit to read it. Nobody asks to register.
More valuable books are locked behind a glass.
Leaving the site. As you can see, from this side it is possible just to hike over the buildings like over mountains.
But we were already quite tired, so didn’t do it :)
As people say, there is no such region of Spain, which likes to be part of Spain:
The writing in Galician language says: “Galicia is not Spain”.
July 24: The day of fight for the rights of youths. Unfortunately, I don’t know, who is Briga :)
One more nice view.
So we finished with the exploring of the city and went back to our hosts, to go with them to a restaurants for a dinner and nice talk. Initially, we were going to stay with them for two nights. But, because in the first day we basically had explored all the city, we decided just to spend one night at their place, and in the morning to take a train to La Coruna.
