Сеговия, разSegovia, one
В конце мая 2014 я провёл выходные в Сеговии. Чудесный город, расположенный в очень живописном месте, он стоит на вершине холма, окружённого другими холмами. Очень легко найти места с которых открываются виды как на заглавном фото. Ещё я назвал бы Сеговию святым местом для всех правоверных мясоедов, поскольку местными деликатесами являются жаренные молочные поросята и ягнята. Ещё город известен старым акведуком, который и стал первым, что я увидел, прибыв на место:
Википедия утверждает что высота акведука в этом месте 28.5 метров, считая 6 метров фундамента.
В этом направлении он когда-то тянулся 15 км до ближайших гор, откуда бралась вода.
Построили его в первом веке нашей эры, и до середины века XIX он был в рабочем состоянии (конечно, его ремонтировали периодически).
Эти камни выглядят красиво без каких-либо специальных украшений.

… а потом неожиданно обрывается.
Как я уже сказал, город круто смотрится с окружающих холмов, но и сами холмы из города выглядят замечательно:

Рядом с главной частью акведука. Старый город вверх по лестнице.
С верху лестницы открывается неплохой вид.
Собор. Ещё один собор я посетил. Чувствую, хоть и атеист, соборов я за свою жизнь посетил уже побольше, чем многие верующие.
Туристы. Но, на самом деле, в Сеговии не так много туристов, как можно было бы ожидать от такого места.
В городе есть Алькасар:
Благодаря расположению на вершине холма, окружённый крепостными стенами город сам по себе является неплохим укреплением, но Алькасар, замок в городе, это, конечно, оплот последней надежды в случае штурма неприятелем. Тут жили короли, тут была тюрьма, после 1762 здесь была королевская артиллерийская академия и другие военные забавы.
Со стороны Алькасар выглядит диснеевским замком.

Внутри не так много интересного, в основном там лишь доспехи и старое оружие собраны.

Можно подняться на вершину замковой башни, это, пожалуй, самое классное место в нём: ещё немного живописных видов во все стороны.

Сеговия, разSegovia, one
A weekend in the end of May 2014 I’ve spent in Segovia. An amazing town located in a very scenic site, it stays on top of a hill, surrounded around by other hills, thus it is very easy to find a spot to enjoy such amazing views like that in the header. Segovia is also a Holy City for every Orthodox Meat-eater, because the local specialities, the roasted suckling pig, and the roasted lamb, are just fabulous. Yet another famous Segovia thing is the old aqueduct passing through the town, and this one was the first local sight I saw on my arrival to the town:
Wikipedia says the aqueduct is 28.5 meters tall in this place, which includes about 6 meters of foundation.
In this direction it used to go for nearly 15 kilometres to reach the mountains, where the water was collected.
It was constructed in the first century AD, and, with numerous renovations and fixes, it was in action until the mid of XIX century.
Without any special decorations, the stones themselves look beatiful.

As I told, the city looks amazing from surrounding hills, but the hills also look very good from the city:

Nearby the main part of the aqueduct. The Old Town is upstairs.
Once you walk up the stairs you’ll see such a nice view!
Cathedral. Yet another Cathedral visited. I suspect that, although an atheist, I have already visited in my life more churches than many believers have.
Tourists. But, actually, not that many tourists as one may expect to find in such an amazing place.
There is an Alcazar in Segovia:
Due to location on a hill, the city protected by the walls is a fortress itself, but this Castle is the stronghold inside the city walls, the ultimate point to defend. It used to be a residence of Spanish kings, a state prison, and after 1762 it hosted Royal Artillery School, and later as military college.
From aside it looks a bit like Disney’s castle.

There is not much to see inside, mostly various armours and old weapons.

There is an option to go to the top of the Castle’s tower, and it is, probably, the best thing: some more of nice views all around.
